Sub Pop Records
One of the truly great independent record labels, Sub Pop has both artistic cred (with artists such as Iron & Wine, The Shins, and Wolf Parade) and legendary status (have you ever heard of Nirvana?). Continuing the trend of finding great music since their inception in 1986, Sub Pop has put out tons of records and artists that make their mark in the music industry.

Some Trivia:

  • The Shins' single "New Slang" has gone gold.
  • Sub Pop is currently in a joint venture with Warner Brothers Music.
  • Sub Pop evolved from a fanzine originally called Subterranean Pop.
